These products are typically licenced on a “user / mailbox” basis.
Examples : Recovery Manager for AD, Reporter for AD, MessageStats, ChangeAuditor for AD and Exchange.

These products are typically licenced on a per “Seat/Named User” basis
Examples: TOAD, SQL Navigator.
3. Monitoring:
These products are typically licenced on a per “Server/CPU Socket/Monitored Instance” basis.
Examples: Foglight and Spotlight.
